I LOVE the medium gate. Looks pretty, keeps my dogs out of rooms I don't want them in (like my guest room) without having to shut the door. The medium one is so much better for my use than the large one. My poodles don't jump over the smaller (medium height) gate, but I can walk over it. If you have a bigger dog, go with the large gate. My only issue, and the reason I took off a star, is that the company is inconsistent. I ordered FOUR gates from them -- two large and two medium. One large took months to come, and the other they randomly cancelled. One medium came within a week, but I'm still waiting on the other one. But the gate is lovely, and it easily adjusts to fit different spaces. I think they just need to work on the quality control in their shipping/order department, because it is not there at present. I'm hopeful my other medium gate will come this week. If not, I'll update my review.

I bought this gate after searching for a very long time. We have a very active 17 month old daughter so we needed something for our front stairs. The problem was that the stairway is very wide. No other gate that we tried would work. I finally stumbled along this gate and it works perfectly. Although it states that is is for pets, it also works great to keep little ones off of the stairs. The gate is substantial enough that my daughter can not knock it down or move it out of the way. The dark colored wood is very attractive. It is adjustable so it can fit in a variety of places around my house. I also really like how it is free standing so you don't have to drill any holes or worry about it rubbing the paint off of the walls. I really recommend this gate, it is great! I will be ordering another one for my other set of stairs.

I was tired of tripping over taller *baby* gates and wanted something that blended with my decor. This gate has been all and more that I wanted it to be! It's easy to pick up and move off to the side when I relocate the dogs and sturdy/well made. It's tall enough so they can't even hope to jump it, yet short enough that I don't have to worry about injuring myself to step over it! Great find!
